Privacy Policy
How MyShroomPlanet collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you browse, take the Fit Finder quiz, use forms, or follow affiliate links.
Scope and effective date
This Privacy Policy applies to MyShroomPlanet.com and is effective July 26, 2026. It explains information collected through the website, contact forms, analytics or security tools that may be enabled, and affiliate links. It does not govern Amazon or another third party after you leave this site.
Information you provide
When you submit the contact form, we may collect your name, email address, topic, message, and consent confirmation. When you use the Mushroom Fit Finder, we collect the category and preference answers you select, including broad safety-screen choices such as under 18, pregnancy or breastfeeding, medication use, a medical condition, an upcoming procedure, or an allergy; the result generated; your email address; optional first name; submission time; and whether you separately consented to future marketing emails. The Fit Finder does not ask you to enter a diagnosis, medication name, procedure details, allergy details, or other free-text medical information. Do not send sensitive medical details through the quiz or general contact form. A valid email is required to show the Fit Finder results because the requested analysis is displayed on screen and also delivered as a one-time transactional email. Future marketing consent is optional and remains separate. When you request a checklist or join the newsletter, we may collect your email address, optional name, selected interests, signup source, consent record, and engagement data. Contact submissions are sent privately to the WordPress administrator email address; that address is not published on the contact page.
Quiz results, email subscriptions, and lead magnets
Submitting the Fit Finder with a valid email authorizes MyShroomPlanet to show the generated analysis on screen and send the requested one-time quiz result email. Consent to receive future marketing or editorial emails is optional, presented as a separate choice, and recorded separately. The result-only choice is selected by default. For a person who is not already subscribed, choosing the result-only option means the address is used for the requested transactional result only, subject to operational, security, suppression, and legal recordkeeping. Choosing result-only does not cancel an existing subscription; existing subscribers can use the preference or unsubscribe controls in marketing emails. Quiz results and lead-magnet delivery may be handled by WordPress or a configured email or form provider. That provider may process signup details, consent records, delivery status, opens, clicks, unsubscribes, and related technical data under its own privacy terms. Subscribers may unsubscribe using the link included in marketing emails. MyShroomPlanet does not sell subscriber information.
Information collected automatically
The website, hosting provider, security tools, caching tools, analytics services, and WordPress may process IP address, browser and device information, referring and visited pages, timestamps, cookies, error logs, and interactions such as Fit Finder progress, result paths, guide visits, calculator use, and affiliate-button clicks. MyShroomPlanet's decision-event system uses a pseudonymous session hash and records event details such as page path, category, product key, placement, and device type. It does not store a raw email address or name in the decision-event table. The exact data also depends on services enabled by the site owner.
How information is used
Information may be used to operate and secure the website, calculate and deliver requested quiz results on screen and by one-time email, personalize guide recommendations, answer messages, prevent spam and abuse, understand traffic and content performance, maintain consent and administrative records, compare search demand with product clicks and orders, identify recurring product dissatisfaction, comply with law, and measure affiliate-link activity. Quiz recommendations are editorial shopping guidance, not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a safety clearance. Safety-screen selections are used to suppress product-specific recommendations and display review-first information.
Cookies and similar technologies
WordPress, analytics, security, embedded services, and affiliate partners may use cookies or similar technologies. Amazon and other merchants control their own cookies and tracking after a visitor follows an affiliate link. Browser settings and any consent tools available on the site can be used to manage cookies.
Affiliate links and third parties
MyShroomPlanet participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. Clicking an affiliate link may send a product identifier, tracking ID, referral information, and technical data to the merchant. Purchases, payment details, shipping, account information, and merchant cookies are handled under the merchant’s own policies.
Embedded content and external links
Pages may include content or links from third-party websites. Those services may collect data and interact with you as though you visited their website directly. Review their policies before providing information.
Data retention and security
Contact messages and administrative records may be retained as long as reasonably needed for communication, security, legal, accounting, or operational purposes. Pseudonymous decision events are automatically removed after approximately 400 days unless a shorter period is required by the site owner or applicable law. Aggregated counts and non-personal product-research notes may be retained longer to improve guides and market analysis. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information reasonably linked to your contact submission, subject to legal and operational exceptions. Depending on your location, additional privacy rights may apply. Use the site contact form and choose “Privacy request.”
Children
MyShroomPlanet is directed to a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information should use the contact form.
Changes
This policy may be updated when services, laws, or practices change. The effective date will be revised. Continued use after an update means the current policy applies.
